Konami has announced a new dark fantasy deck building game Project Zircon. The announcement came along with a teaser, featuring core gameplay with the project producer comments. The game promises strategical challenges, time pressing and several different endings. Project Zircon prepared to launch on PC (Steam) with no release date at sight.

Project Zircon offers players a role of a nation ruler, at the darkest time for the realm. Rebuilding the defenses and straightening army before Calamity Dragon of the Abyss return becomes their main goal. However, all milestones must be reaches within first five years of their reign or the real will fall before the great threat. The gameplay consists of several different phases scattered across each year, with different task to attend.

Key Game Features

  • Deckbuilding Strategy: Players gather Character Cards and construct Facilities to expand and strengthen the nation.
  • Admin and Strategy Phases: Commerce, Industry, and Culture Points used through different phases for maximum profit.
  • Zirpowers: Unique advantage cards in the deck for powerful plays.
  • Multiple Endings: Events and choices branch the story. Victory conditions may differ from simple combat.
  • Progression System: Player Level increases with continued play, unlocking new Facilities and additional starting decks.
  • Time Pressure: Players must survive five years against the Calamity Dragon. One missed early goal leads to a failrue.
