Final Fantasy VII Revelation Will Have Multiple Story DLC’s

After the recent big reveal of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, it was shared that the game will feature two story expansions, both slated to arrive several months after the game is out.

The news (via Polygon) shares that the DLC will focus on two major characters of the series, the first episode featuring supervillain Sephiroth, and the other featuring one of the newer characters, Vincent Valentine.

Both DLC are expected to arrive between the end of 2027 and beginning of 2028. These expansions are a great opportunity to give more of an insight on characters that don’t get the spotlight as frequently as others. The Sephiroth DLC could focus on his past before he transformed into the humanity-threatening villain he is today. The DLC on Vincent can give players much-needed information on a character that is less focused on.

It was revealed several months ago that DLC was being considered for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, and it was also known that these now-confirmed expansions were meant to tell untold stories as opposed to a continuation of the main plot. Similar to what they did with the first game in the remake series, having a DLC entirely focused on Yuffie.

The big release date reveal at State of Play gives fans loads to be excited for as April 2027 draws closer. Along with the announcement, pre-orders of the game opened shortly after the reveal. Offering multiple editions of the game to choose from.

The game comes with the standard edition for usual $70 price, but that only includes the base game, whereas a step up with the premium edition for $100 comes with not only a expansion pass, but 24-hour early access, meaning gamers who buy that edition can play on April 7, one full day early. There is also an premium plus edition for $110.

The hype for Final Fantasy VII Revelation is only just beginning, and today’s reveal offers a ton of reasons for fans to place their pre-orders in preparation of the April launch. The long-awaited end for this trilogy is near, but it seems like the adventure is only just beginning.
