Final Fantasy VII Revelation is set to release on April 8, 2027, and bring an end to the remake trilogy of the most iconic JRPG of all time. But, before the end of an era arrives for Final Fantasy, new FF7 merchandise featuring Cloud and Sephiroth is on the way.
Square Enix has never failed to capitalize on the popularity of Final Fantasy VII, and they're sending its remake off with a bang in the form of new collectibles, all focused on the game's main hero and villain. This merchandise was just announced, and there are a number of pieces every FF fan will want to own.
Final Fantasy 7 Returns With New Cloud and Sephiroth Releases
Just ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2026, Square Enix has unveiled a new line of Final Fantasy VII merchandise. Pre-orders will open on September 17, but Cloud and Sephiroth fans can take a peek at what's about to hit the market now.
Cloud and Sephiroth will both be receiving acrylic stands, both capturing their respective gaming icon as they first looked in 1997. A Buster Sword muffler towel was also revealed, allowing fans to feel like Cloud Strife in a way that doesn't require carrying an oversized blade. While not directly related to Cloud or Sephiroth, the character who ties them together, Zack Fair, also had a new statue from PLAY ARTS revealed.
Separately, new FF7 collectibles are being released as part of "Final Fantasy VII Remake Series Complete Edition", releasing on April 8, 2027. Available for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Steam, this collection offers all three games in the FF7 remake trilogy, as well as extra Cloud and Sephiroth goodies.
These goodies include a keychain of Cloud Strife, looking as blocky and cute as he did in the original PS1 release of Final Fantasy 7. The biggest highlight is the glorious statue to come with the statue, featuring both Cloud and Sephiroth, as well as Zack Fair.
Also included in the collection are a "Story Expansion Pass" for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, special cases for each of the three games, "The Art of Final Fantasy VII Revelation," and assorted other FF7 memorabilia. All of this will cost gamers 77,777 Yen, or roughly $506 USD.
The release of Final Fantasy VII Revelation truly is a big deal, and it's nice to see that Square Enix is treating it as such. Not only is it the conclusion to a project over a decade in the making, but its release leaves the future unclear for the premiere JRPG developer. The long-awaited Final Fantasy XVII may be the next game to be released in the series, and fans have no idea what that could look like.
Alternatively, Square Enix could begin a new remake, with the popular choice among fans being the long-teased FF9 remake. But, it's also possible the company will prefer to go in chronological order, and remake the often overlooked FF8 instead.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation is releasing on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
